#FreshRadioFacts …today 1986 Run-DMC Raising Hell Released!

18 July 2012 Fresh Radio

The album “Raising Hell” by Run-DMC is released, on Profile Records, on this day in 1986.

The chart topping third album by the legendary Hollis, Queens group would feature a cover of Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way”, a collaboration with the latter rock band’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, whose accompanying music video would become an instant MTV fan favorite, propelling Run-DMC, and hip-hop itself, into the world of mainstream pop, as well as reviving the career of Aerosmith as well.

The album also featured the hits “It’s Tricky”, “My Adidas”, “You Be Illin’” and the hip-hop classics “Peter Piper” and “Dumb Girl.” I remember it was on of the 1st tapes I think I had that was clear/see through and not white…and the text wore off but I always seemed to know what side was what!
