He would have been 49 years old.
• Eazy-E was born Eric Wright in Compton, California on September 7th, 1963. He died in 1995 of complications from AIDS.
• He founded N.W.A. in 1986 with Arabian Prince, DJ Yella, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube and MC Ren.
• The group put gangsta rap on the map in 1988 with Straight Outta Compton, which attracted countless fans — and unwanted attention from law enforcement and other authorities upset at their anti-police lyrics.
• Arabian Prince and Ice Cube quit the group in 1989, and Cube and became a solo star. N.W.A. continued as a group into the early ’90s
• After N.W.A., Eazy had public feuds with Dre and Ice Cube, but reconciled with both before his death in 1995.
• Eazy’s first solo album eventually sold more than two million copies. He also introduced the world to Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.
