Legendary DJ, producer and former Electra Recording Artist DJ Kevy Kev is most known for
his time on The Rap Attack alongside Hip-Hop veterans Marley Marl, Mr. Magic and Pete Rock.
Together with former Electra recording artist Ak-B, DJ Kevy Kev made a mark in Hip-Hop
during a classic era and solidified himself as a legend in his own right. Originally from the
Bronx, Kev met and was taken under the wing of Marley Marl after moving to Spring Valley
New York in the 90’s. From this connection, Kev began working on the first ever rap radio
shows, Rap Attack with Mr. Magic, and In Control with Marley Marl. He has contributed to
classic albums for Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, Craig G and LL Cool J, just to name a few.
Kevy Kev has continued his radio show efforts online, as well as on WBLS on special Mix
Master events. Recently an overseas record label released long awaited songs from Kevy Kev &
AK -B to vinyl collectors and DJs worldwide. This limited edition album sold out within days
and has opened doors for him internationally. He is a member of worldwide DJ coalitions such
as Fleet DJs and Coast 2 Coast DJs and continues to work on his craft and share it with the
masses.
In 2011 he crossed paths with fellow Bronx native female MC F.A.T.AL.E. The creative
chemistry was instantaneous between himself and F.A.T.A.L.E, and soon they were a dynamic
duo ready to take the industry by storm. With a nostalgic vibe such as when Rappers and DJs
collaborated on stage and studio albums, these two are becoming a force to be reckoned with!
They have released a mix-tape and are currently working on an album.
Although DJ Kevy Kev has inspired DJs from different eras, he remains humble and thankful
that he has been fortunate to learn from those that came before him. With Hip-Hop in his veins,
and finesse on the turntable he continues to live up to the nickname that Mr. Magic gave him
years ago – “The Turntable Lord.”
