On March 9th, 1997, Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace <\/strong>was killed in a still-unsolved drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. He was 24.<\/span><\/p>\n

• Christopher Wallace was raised in the Brooklyn borough of New York City.<\/span><\/li>\n
• He released his debut album, Ready to Die<\/em>, in 1994, becoming a central figure on the East Coast, then national hip-hop scenes.<\/span><\/li>\n
• While recording his second album, he was heavily involved in the EastCoast-WestCoast beef of the ’90s, which was led by his friend-turned-rival Tupac Shakur<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
• The double-disc set Life After Death<\/em>, released 15 days after Biggie’s assassination, hit number-one and was certified diamond in 2000 for sales of 10 million copies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
