Fresh off our 100th episode of Enjoy and Be Educated, it might be hard to fathom that we had plenty of music we didn’t get a chance to play in our 4 hour special. The solution was to present you with the remnants of that episode; hence we bring you “Leftover Ingredients”. 2 more hours of smooth jazz, Latin rhythms and dancehall reggae come forth to keep the celebration going as we continue to spread the power of music. With Diggers Union staples like The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble, Maceo Parker, Cal Tjader and Capleton on deck, prepare for another ride into the land of music. As always, enjoy and be educated.

The diggin’ never stops, announced Maseo of De La Soul many years ago; we hold that statement dear, to say the least. With that being said, we’re proud to bring you our seventh entry into our series, “Give the Drummer Some.” Bringing you more classic breaks and great percussion, we’ve got another 2 hours of hard hitting beats for the fans and producers out there looking for drums to complete their beats. With staples like Bernard Purdie and Sly & The Family Stone to lesser known artists such as Cox Orange, To Be and The Quantic Soul Orchestra, as always with us, enjoy and be educated.1445-enjoy-and-be-educated

When asked about hip-hop legends (particularly in Queens), Kool G. Rap must be brought up during the conversation. The Corona, Queens native has created quite an illustrious career beginning in 1986 until the present, influencing such hip-hop heavyweights as Jay-Z, Big L, Notorious B.I.G. and Big Pun. His incredible delivery and wordplay can only be matched by a few artists, and he personifies lyricism at its finest. Credited with being one of (if not) the first to incorporate mafia themed lyrics in his rhymes, he gave NY gangsta rap an identity when that style dominated west coast hip-hop. Focusing primarily on his earlier work and featuring 32 tracks of breaks, bars and breath control (another trait unsurpassed by many), here are 2 hours of one of hip-hop’s finest MCs to ever hold a microphone. Enjoy and be educated. – The Diggers Union (http://thediggersunion.com)
